{"id":387,"date":"2021-08-27T13:38:06","date_gmt":"2021-08-27T13:38:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dcmods.unreliable.network\/?p=387"},"modified":"2024-06-29T11:58:44","modified_gmt":"2024-06-29T11:58:44","slug":"sonic-adventure-dc-hd-first-release","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dcmods.unreliable.network\/index.php\/2021\/08\/27\/sonic-adventure-dc-hd-first-release\/","title":{"rendered":"Sonic Adventure DC-HD first release"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>Update 2024\/06\/29: This tool has been superseded by the <a href=\"https:\/\/gitlab.com\/PiKeyAr\/dreamcast-image-builder\/\">Dreamcast Image Builder<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sonic Adventure DC-HD is a new way to play the Dreamcast version of SA1 on the <a href=\"https:\/\/flyinghead.github.io\/flycast-builds\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/flyinghead.github.io\/flycast-builds\/\">flycast<\/a> emulator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/dcmods.unreliable.network\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/image-1024x576.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-388\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dcmods.unreliable.network\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/image-1024x576.png 1024w, https:\/\/dcmods.unreliable.network\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/image-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/dcmods.unreliable.network\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/image-768x432.png 768w, https:\/\/dcmods.unreliable.network\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/image-1536x864.png 1536w, https:\/\/dcmods.unreliable.network\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/image-2048x1152.png 2048w, https:\/\/dcmods.unreliable.network\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/image-640x360.png 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>You can play SA1 with the following improvements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The game runs at 60 FPS during gameplay without framerate-related glitches (hopefully).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Widescreen hack without model clipping or HUD stretching (some HUD stuff is offset though &#8211; this will be fixed eventually).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All videos can be skipped by pressing Start, not just the intro.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cheat code to disable all cutscenes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you cannot run in a straight line with your controller\/keyboard, there&#8217;s an optional patch for that.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Less choppy ocean in Emerald Coast (similar to Dreamcast Conversion for SADX PC).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"840\" height=\"601\" src=\"https:\/\/dcmods.unreliable.network\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/image-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-389\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dcmods.unreliable.network\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/image-1.png 840w, https:\/\/dcmods.unreliable.network\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/image-1-300x215.png 300w, https:\/\/dcmods.unreliable.network\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/image-1-768x549.png 768w, https:\/\/dcmods.unreliable.network\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/image-1-503x360.png 503w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 840px) 100vw, 840px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Sonic Adventure DC-HD is distributed as a patcher program which you use on the original GDI of SA1 (US 1.005, animated title screen) to produce a patched version. It also comes with a cheat file that you need to load in flycast if you want to use the widescreen hack. Follow the instructions on the repo for more details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This project is a work in progress. Not all features are complete and new features may be added in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SA1 DC-HD has been tested on the standalone version of flycast on Windows and Android. <strong>The modified image is only meant to be used on the flycast emulator<\/strong>. 60 FPS and the widescreen hack will not work properly on other emulators or real hardware.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Update 2024\/06\/29: This tool has been superseded by the Dreamcast Image Builder.
